Windshield Replacement
The windshield had a nasty crack on the passenger side that appears to have
occurred as a result of the windshield settling against one of the metal
trim clips just above the passenger side wiper. There are 20 such clips that
attach to small studs. If you plan on doing the job youself, make sure you
use the appropriate tool to remove the chrome otherwise you will damage it!
After removing the winshield, scrape away all the caulking material, and any
remove paint around any rust spots. I used a wire drill brush to clean away
excess debris and applied mar-hyde ONE-STEP which converts rust to black
primer sealer prior to painting. The windshield clips were quite rusty so I
ordered a two 10 pack's from Clark's Corvair Parts to replace all of them.
I'll post a final picutre of the completed work when I get the paint on!
